It's divided into bite-sized chapters, so you can finish a complete thought before the kids start traumatizing the dog. I could just read the chapter titles and be satisfied. I read each night before bed, and this book made me giggle so much my husband would say, "What? What?" I wound up reading half of it out loud. The author is instantly likeable, someone I can relate to--especially over a margarita. Her book is a mommy pat on the back and a reminder that perfection is waaaaaay overrated.Product details

A MUST read for ALL moms, no matter where they are in the parenting stage of life! It has a great format! Makes a great gift for new moms but can also be appreciated by not-so-new mom's that might need to know that there is somebody else who gets what you are going through, with a smile.
Written in lovely little vignettes perfect for busy moms, Julie Davidson's From Conception to Confusion touches on every aspect of parenting. Sometimes it's ridiculous. Sometimes it's embarrassing. Sometimes lonely. Sometimes fantastic. But we love our children fiercely, even if we don't particularly like them sometimes. And that's okay. And we're not alone, which is a pretty liberating realization.
I laughed out loud and I cried, too, cliche as it sounds. And a few particularly poignant sentences felt as though they were written just for me. We try to do it all, and sometimes we make it. More often we don't. What's important is that we keep on, and that we lean on others (friends, family, husbands) along the way. A fun (and important) read!
I have know this woman all my life. Her stories resonate with all and her writing is funny and poignant at the same time. This is a great read!
From Conception to Confusion is a fast, funny read that all those with children can relate to. It should be required reading for those contemplating children. It's funny and very real. It is a fast read but takes you longer due to the laughing you will be doing. Ms. Davidson did an excellent job describing what all parents have gone through but have never spoke about publicly at least.

I burst out laughing while reading this on a plane and in other public places, because from page 1 it is that funny! The "What to Expect When You're Expecting" for moms who want the real dish with the added bonus of adventures in parenting!
Warm, insightful, funny--filled with the wit only a wise and loving mom could have. If you're a mom, if you're a grandmother, if you've had kids in your life you'll relate to story after story. It's a great book to pick up and savor, reading a few stories at a time-- if you can get yourself to put it down! Kind of like eating chocolate, but much less fattening! You'll love it--I did!
I kept having this thought over and over while reading...get out of my head! I'm a mom of 2 boys as well and so many stories she tells are just so similar. I'm so happy to have found this book...nothing better than knowing you're not alone. All my mom friends need to read this!
